Charles William McIntire was born to Joseph and Marian (Edes) McIntire at Bertha, Todd County, Minnesota. He passed away from a heart attack on February 8, 1998 near Portage, Indiana. As a young child Chuck set type in the Bertha Herald newspaper office after school and at night. When he was older he went with his brother to Nampa, Idaho where they worked the harvests back through Montana. Later he went alone. Some of the work he did including running combines in the Ledger area. He spent winters going to school in Bertha. On June 8, 1975 he was married to Shirley (Domer) Whitson in Moore, Montana. They moved to Townsend in October of 1976 and made their home on the North Fork of Deep Creek. In October of 1984 Charles again went cross-country trucking. Charles was a member of Judith Lodge #86, Vesper Chapter OES #83, and the Lewistown Eagles. He was preceded in death by his father in August of 1947. He is survived by wife Shirley, son Joseph of Casper, WY, sisters Jeanne and Vera and brothers Stanley, Robert and Allen.
