Also served as a Member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives from 1856 to 1858, 1874, 1883, 1891, and 1897, Speaker of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives in 1897, Delegate to the Republican National Convention from New Hampshire in 1868, Member of the New Hampshire State Senate in 1876, and Delegate to the New Hampshire State Constitutional Convention in 1889.
