Darlena Kelley Brown, 87 of Marietta, Georgia, died January 29, 2009. Services were held at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Jim Conrad officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, Georgia.

Mrs. Brown was born in North Augusta, Georgia, and lived in Baltimore, Maryland; Miami, FL; Asheville, NC and Niagara Falls, Canada. She spent her last years in Marietta, Georgia. She worked as a Librarian in the Dade County Schools while she lived in Miami and worked on the assembly line while working at Glenn L. Martin Company as a "Rosie the Riveter" while living in Baltimore during WWII. Mrs. Brown was a devout homemaker and Christian and a member of Town View Baptist Church in Kennesaw, Georgia. She was a member of the Fielding Lewis chapter of the D.A.R. and P.E.O. International.

The family of Mrs. Brown extends their deepest appreciation to the Winnwood Retirement Community and staff for its gracious hospitality and wonderful care of Mrs. Brown while she was in residence there.

Survivors include her husband Lloyd Davis of Canada; daughter and son-in-law Paula E. & Harry Saunders of Kennesaw; grandchildren Debra Matulevicus and husband Mark of Kennesaw, Gregory Alan Brown and wife Liz, Jeffrey Garland Brown all of Charlotte, NC; great grandchildren Kelley Matulevicus, Kendall Brown; Madeline Brown; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her first husband Garland B. Brown; daughter Janice B. Saari and her son Alan Garland Brown.
