Michael G. Zaugg, 47, of Ririe, died Monday, August 22, 2011, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.

He was born March 3, 1964, in Ogden, Utah to Alonzo Nebeker Zaugg and Ellen Mae Gordon Zaugg. He was raised and attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School. On February 19, 1988, he married Vonda Jill Jacobson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union they added six children. He owned and operated his own carpet cleaning business and was known as a hard worker and a people person. Mike has been working at Bonneville County Courthouse the past 7 years in maintenance. He loved his job and especially the great people he worked with. Their tribute to him was that he was always positive and willing to help anyone.

Michael is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; and served a fulltime mission in the Anaheim California Mission. He also enjoyed serving in the Young Men's organization. Michael loved the Boy Scouts of America Program and was awarded the District Award of Merit last December. He loved working with the youth and they loved him. He was currently serving as the Webelos Leader and had earned his Wood Badge. Michael enjoyed working with youth, hunting, and football; he especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his parents, Alonzo and Ellen Zaugg, of Ririe, wife, Vonda Zaugg, of Ririe, 4 daughters, Kassandra, Mikayla, Kaitlyn, and Bridgett, 2 sons, Trevor and Bryson, all of Ririe, sisters, Myndee (Karl) Casperson, of Idaho Falls, Holli (Matt) Davis, of Ririe, brothers, Scott (Troy) Zaugg and Ken (Dorothy) Zaugg, both of Idaho Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 on Friday 26th of August at the Ririe LDS Stake Center 14061 North 130 East, Ririe, with Bishop Alan Myler, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday August 25th at the Ririe LDS Stake Center. And from 11:30 to 12:45 prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
