Dale Shaw, age 64, of Fulton, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 1, 2010, after a valiant fight with cancer. Dale was born April 27, 1945, in Callaway County, the son of Manley Alderson and Edith Leona (Bradley) Shaw. On October 13, 1969 he was united in marriage to Helen Grace Harrison, who survives at their home.
In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his very special mother-in-law, Grace Harrison of Fulton, three aunts, Sylvia (Joe) Rothermich of Benson, Arizona, Helen Bradley of Jefferson City and Roselyn Morrow of Fulton, Sisters-in-law, Ann (Jack) Ruffell of Fulton, Jean (Tom) Dawson of Kingdom City and Beverly (Keith) Neese of Columbia, cousins, Angela (George) Morrison of Fulton, Sherry (Bob) Pry of El Paso, Texas, Ronda (Ron) Johnson of Tucson, Arizona and Lisa (Wayne) McKee of Round Rock, Texas, nieces and nephews, Steven (Christy) Ruffell of Booneville, Jacquie (Dale) Spry of Columbia, Leslie (Larry) Gash of Columbia, Jennifer (Mike) Inhoff of Columbia and Matthew (Wendy) Dawson of Peoria, Illinois, two special friends he thought of as brothers, Larry Brown of Springfield and Robert Mischnick of Fulton.
Dale was preceeded in death by his parents, an infant brother and two uncles, Sonny Bradley and James Morrow.
Dale graduated from Fulton High School, attended Kansas State University and graduated from Linn Tech with a degree in drafting. He worked for many years with his father in Shaw Trucking Company and retired from the Callaway Road District and Bridge Department.
Dale loved his Lord and was an active member of Harmony Babtist Church. He lived life to the fullest. He and his wife, H.G. were involved in Sprint Car Racing for many years, Knoxville, Iowa being one of the highpoints. They enjoyed model Ts and later rode motorcycles, touring the country on a Gold Wing until 2006, when he got his Harley Ultra Glide, which they enjoyed riding until this year.
Memorial services will be at 11:00am, Thursday, January 7, 2010 with Reverend Mike Crowson officiating. Visitation 5-7pm on January 6, 2010 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Babtist Church or the American Cancer Society.

At the start of this season, the only returning letterman lost to the Hornets was Senior guard Dale Shaw due to a move by his parents to Arizona.
Coach Fisher has announced that Shaw's family has returned to Fulton and the husky lineman is working out with the FHS gridders.
