Death:	Mar. 27, 1898 Washington District of Columbia District Of Columbia, USA
US Congressman. He attended Yarmouth, Massachusetts public schools; Saint Mark's School in Southboro, Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard University in 1885. He was a member of the Massachusetts State Senate from 1890 through 1891.He was a member of the Republican Club of Massachusetts and the Republican State Committee. Elected to the United States Congress as a Republican in March of 1895 he served until his death in 1898.He was an avid book collector and donated his collection, upon his death, to the Yarmouth Public schools. A school on Old main Street in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts was named for him in 1930 and remained in service as an institution of learning until 2006.
