After suffering for several months, during which time she had the best of care and medical skill, Mrs. Bessie A. Scott passed away last Sunday morning at her home in this city.
Mrs. Scott had been ailing for over two years past, and for the past year has been very feeble, and during this time has been tenderly cared for by her step-son William, who has at all times given her the careful attention that a true son might give, and his loving ministration have greatly assisted her midst her suffering.
The deceased has resided in Green River since the winter of '87, and was well known to almost every inhabitant in the town as well as widely known throughout the county. She was a member of Mystic Chapter No. 8, O. E. S., and in her active days was a woman who always was ready to lend a willing hand to assist in any way in making the way easier for a less fortunate person, and while she was between 60 and 70 years of age when she passed on, her long life was filled with many kind deeds, which will long be remembered by those who knew her best. She leaves two daughters and four step-sons to mourn her departure from this life, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire community.
The funeral was held last Tuesday morning. The local lodge of O. E. S., of which she was a member held services at the home, while Rev. Schepp of Rock Springs preached an able sermon over the remains at the Episcopal church, after which the remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the Green River cemetery.
