Last Friday a man named Blas Piņa was fished out of the bay at San Francisco and conveyed to the city prison for medical treatment. There was a deep wound in his throat, which bled profusely, and the man died without giving any epxlanation [sic] of the mysterious affair. Deceased was formerly a resident of this place, and has a family now residing in Hopland, Mendocino county, to whom he was returning, after an absence of over a year, in Nevada, where he had been working. Some friends of the deceased went to the city for the body, which they conveyed to Hopland for burial."
