Augusta Rozalia,92,of Akron died Sunday(Sept.1,1991)at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.Services were held at 10:30a.m.Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron,with Rev.William Flemr officiating.Burial was in Riverside Cemetery,Akron.Mrs.Buehre was born Sept.21,1898,in Javer,Germany,the daughter of Henry and fredericka(Held)Popken.She came to America at the age 13 in 1912,on the steamship Breslau.On that trip,they helped rescue the surviors from the Titanic.She married Herber Buehre in 1921,at LeMars,Iowa.He died March 30,1967.She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron.Survivors include two sons,Clyde and his wife Dolores,Eugene all of Sioux City;two granddaughters,Judi Dorn and Cathi Henshaw;one grandson,Todd Henshaw;a sister Martha Molzen of LeMars.She preceded in death by her husband;two brothers,Fred andd Otto;four sisters,Lizzy Johnson,Freda and Anna Popken and Marie Vander Ham.
