Bernie Corrigan, 39, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., formerly of East Palestine, died accidentally on Sunday.
Mr. Corrigan was born Sept. 14, 1971, the son of the late Nadine (Weber) Caratelli and Bernard Corrigan.
He was raised in East Palestine before moving to California in 1992. He had worked for East Palestine China in this area, and for Howard Rosen Music Productions and Guitar Hero in California.
Mr. Corrigan also was employed by Line 6 out of Los Angeles, and had performed with several bands in the West Coast music industry, most recently with the band "Elviss Simons."
Concurrently, he wrote original music for TV, movie soundtracks and various other projects. From tracks recorded with Oscar and Grammy-winning producer Giorgio Moroder ("Life Goes On" in the Media section), to current projects with Grammy-winning songwriter Ben Moody (Evanescence, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, We Are The Fallen).
He also performed with Gretchen Bonaduce's band "Ankhesenamen," with whom he also filmed a TV show for Fox Reality entitled "Re-Inventing Bonaduce."
Bernie also actively instructed students in guitar, bass, vocals and percussion.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Lovejoy-Corrigan; a son, Bernard; a daughter, Sarah; his stepmother and stepfather, Peggy and Ronald Caratelli; a sister, Denise Corrigan; a brother, Dennis Bischoff, a step-sister, Emily Marek, three nephews, Denny Bischoff, Cory Andrews, Patrick LaPergola; and two nieces, Bailey and Riley LaPergola.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nadine (Weber) Caratelli; father, Bernard Corrigan; brother, Ted Bischoff; and infant sister, Shannon Corrigan.
Services and burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills.
