Horace Edgar Chamberlain, 80, retired farmer, died at his home in Toulon. He had been in failing heath for some time but was able to be up and around his home. Funeral services will be held Sunday with a prayer service at Kidd funeral home and in West Jersey Methodist Church. Burial will be in West Jersey cemetery. Mr Chamberlain was born in Toulon, April 15, 1865, son of Amaziah and Chastina Alldredge Chamberlain. His marriage to Sarah Catherine Roney took place in Princeville in 1891. They began housekeeping on a farm near Laura, moving to Wada Petra when Mr. Chamberlain retired from his work 16 years ago. In December of 1944, they purchased a home in Toulon and have lived here since. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1941. Surviving are his wife; one son, Arthur O., of Toulon; two granddaughters, Mrs. Thelma Dirlam, who lives in Texas, and Mrs. Ruby Hobert, of Charles City, Ia.; two grandsons, Eugene and Richard Chamberlain, of Hampshire; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Emmons, of West Jersey, and Frank, of Toulon. He was preceded in death by one son, Walter and one grandson, James.
