Rites Set Friday for MacBean
Funeral services for Reginald James MacBean of 4436 Livingston Ave., retired vice-president and senior trust office of Republic National Bank, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Sparkman Funeral Chapel, 2115 Ross. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. MacBean died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital.
He was born and educated at Inverness, Scotland, and served in the British Territorial Army with the Queens' Own Cameron Highlanders.
A Dallas resident since 1907, Mr. MacBean became an assistant secretary of Republic Trust & Savings Bank in 1924. When Republic Trust merged with Republic National in 1928, he was elected assistant vice-president and assistant trust officer. He became vice-president and senior trust officer in 1956. Mr. MacBean retired in 1959.
He formerly had served on the boards of directors of Sanger Investment Co., Houston Bank Mill, Davis-Johnson LUmber Co., King Ranch Oil & Lignite Co., Halliburton Oil Co., Halliburton Portland Cement Co., Rainbow Oil Co., and Camino, Inc.
Survivors: Wife; a daughter, Mrs. A. L. Parker of Taos, N.M.; a sister, Mrs. Montey McGillivray of Aberdeen, Scotland, and two grandchildren.
