Services for Varnell E. Bridgman, 79, of Killeen will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with Dr. Joe D. Rich and the Rev. Alvin Reese Sutton officiating.
Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bridgman died Sept. 15, 2004, at a Temple hospital.
She was born July 11, 1925, in the Okay community on the Fort Hood reservation, the daughter of the late Richard M. and Clytee Huggins.
Mrs. Bridgman was a member since 1963 of Memorial Baptist Church in Killeen, where she was very active in the church until her health began to fail. She taught Bible school, Sunday school and Cradle Roll.
She was a happy homemaker and an avid fan of arts and crafts.
Survivors include a son, James Kenneth Smith of Burnet; three daughters, Judy Lisenbe and Brenda Garces, both of Killeen, and Sandra Whitaker of Copperas Cove; a sister, Margaret Heathcott of Killeen; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bridgman was also preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Hinkson; a brother, Buck Huggins; and a sister, Joyce Porter.
