Death was at the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Baby Daryl was born six weeks early and didn't have a chance to fully develope in the womb. His insides were backwards and his intestines didn't get inflated with the amniotic fluid. He developed peritonitis (sp) and on the night of 19 July, died in the arms of his grandparents Shirley and Gordon Gutke at the old Primary Childrens Hospital. One of his nurses kept asking to be assigned to him, which is taboo in these cases because they get too attached. She begged to be notified when he passed, and she was, in the night, and she cried her eyes out. I know this because (unknown to me at the time), her husband was an Air Force ROTC cadet at BYU, which is where I was stationed as the Chief of Administration. He is buried at the foot of my grandma Jessie Morgan's grave. BTW. He is named after my cousin Daryl Byington, who died as an adult but way too early in life. He lived next door to us and worked for a season for my father Keith Byington.
