Published two text books on Gynecology and Obstetrics for medical students and translated into English a German text book on the physics of radiation therapy, to which he had contributed a chapter dealing with some work he had performed in the author's laboratories in Germany. He became an international authority on radium therapy of pelvic cancer. In 1933 he established the Mercy Hospital Institute of Radiation Therapy, which was designed to house the first million volt X-Ray machine for the treatment of cancer. He helped Dr. Coolidge design both the building and the super voltage X-Ray machine, which was built by the General Electric Company. Henry was a founder member of two American Specialty Boards, The Board of Obsteterics and Gynecology and the Board of Radiology. He received many other honors, including the Janeway Medal, which was bestowed upon him at the same time it was bestowed upon Nobel Prize winner, Professor Michelson of the University of Chicago. For many years, until his death, he was chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical School of Loyola University and head of the same department at Mercy Hospital, both located in Chicago.
