She was born May 8, 1945, to Lewis Albert McFall and Margaret Prouty McFall in Galeton, Penn.
A former resident of Cabarrus County, she was a devoted Christian who has grown tremendously in her walk with God. She was an active member of Fisher St. Baptist Church and an honorary member at Gilmore Chapel AME Zion. She has touched so many with her faith. Her life's accomplishments are shown in the hearts and souls of her family and all the people who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Gerald Howard Payne, Sr.; her father, Lewis Albert McFall, and her great-granddaughter McKenzie Aubrilee Christenbury.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, James L. Carlisle; her mother, Margaret Mc-Fall; her children, Gloria and Ronald Christenbury of Charlotte; Gerald Howard Payne, Jr. of Concord; Deborah Foster Morales of New York; Delbert and Holly Foster-Paul of Virginia; Robert and Chris McFall and Edward McFall of Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren, Christopher Whitaker, Nikki Whitaker and Marketus Hampton, Kathy, Jessica, Ronald and Myia Christenbury; Elizabeth and Martin-Gonzalez, Devon Slaten Christenbury, Kayla, Stephanie and Lurissa Paul, Ashley and Michael Ottaviano; Seth, Anna, Steven, Katlyn McFall, Nicole McFall and siblings. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Anniyah, Kylee, Dameon, Hayden, Ryan and McKenzie; extended family, Robin and John Craig and longtime special friend, Earlene Parks.
The family will receive guests Saturday, Aug. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
