George Talsma, Sr., aged 95, of Hudsonville, passed away at Brookcrest Nursing Home Wednesday evening, August 13, 1986. He was preceded by his wife June (Achterhof) in 1952, and his wife Catherine (VerSluis) in1981. He is survived by his children, Clarence and Jeanette Talsma of Jenison, Peter and Helen Talsma of Hudsonville, Gerrit and Edith Kiekover of Jenison, William Talsma of Hundsonville, Thomas and Henrietta Kapenga of Holland, Donald and Hazel Talsma of Hudsonville, George Talsma Jr. of Muskegon and Dorothy Klamer of Hudsonville; 35 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Gertrude Talsma of Grandville and his step-children, Mrs. Annaruth VandenBerg of Grandville, Ted and Barbara Sjoerdsma of Iowa City, George and Joanne DeKnekkoek of Kalamazoo.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the VanderLaan Funeral Home in Hudsonville, Rev. Bernard Byma officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Calling hours at the VanderLaan Chapel will be Friday evening 7 to 9 p.m. VanderLaan, Hudsonville.
