Irene Rosenberg, 92, of the 100 block of Cromwell Pkwy., died July 8, 1999, in her residence.
Mrs. Rosenberg was the widow of Isidor ''Izzy'' Rosenberg and was preceded in death by her daughter, Rona Rosenberg Leonard. She was a member of Temple Israel, its Sisterhood and Hadassah in Norfolk.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Sue Mersel and her husband, Joseph, of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Sheryl Leonard of Virginia Beach, H. Mark Mersel and his wife, Andrea, of Tustin, Calif., Jodi Dunkel and her husband, Harold, of Norfolk, Richard Mersel of Virginia Beach; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Taylor of Virginia Beach, Adam and Matthew Mersel of Tustin; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Samuel Sobel. The family will be at 439 Carl St., Norfolk, Va. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Jewish Family Services of Tidewater Inc., 7300 Newport Ave., Norfolk VA 23505, or The Alzheimers Association, 20 Koger Executive Center, Norfolk VA 23502. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
