J. Lawton Whitlock

J. Lawton Whitlock, 81, died recently at the Calais Regional Hospital after a long illness.

He was born at Milltown, N.B., February 19, 1884, the son of Colin and Annie (Inches) Whitlock.

He lived for a number of years at Cambridge, Mass. He came to Calais nine months ago to live with his sister. He was a member and past master of Mystic Valley Masonic Lodge of Winchester, Mass., and a past priest of the Woburn Royal Arch Chapter of Woburn, Mass. He was past district deputy grand high priest of the Eighth Masonic District in Massachusetts.

He was also a member of the Harvard Club and the Victoria Club, both in Boston.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Bessie W. Andrews of Calais; one nephew of Dallas, Tex.; and several cousins.

Funeral services were held at the Scholl Funeral Home in Calais with the Rev. Donald Osborne of the First Congregational Church officiating.

Interment was in the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
