Jacob, who resided in Milton, Delaware, served as a Private with the 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on January 28, 1942 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted as being Single, with dependents.

He was "Killed In Action" near St. Lo, France during the war.

He had served in the Army for one year and five months at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart.
