He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, farm animals and watching wild game. He was also interested in politics.
Survivors include his children, Brian David Birch of Phoenix, Arizona, Lisa Jones of Salmon, Idaho, and Michael Shane birch of St Anthony, Idaho; a brother Dean S Birch of Rexburg, Idaho, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Darin Gerald Birch, a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Rexburg North Stake Center with Bishop Lynn Archibald of the Rexburg 1st Ward officiating. The family will meet with friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and again Saturday from noon to 12:45 p.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
