Helen Deloris Bohm, age 92, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Wednesday evening August 10, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.

Funeral services will be held Monday August 15, 2011 at 10:30 am from the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. William Smalley, officiating. Interment will follow in the Elgin Cemetery at Mystic. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 pm with the family present from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Deloris was born November 3, 1918, in Mystic, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Helen(Fry)Bear. She attended country schools. She was united in marriage with John Bohm on September 22, 1946 in Centerville. John preceded Deloris in death on March 8, 2002. The family farmed in the Mystic area for many years until early 1970 when they moved to Knoxville where they farmed until John passed away. Following his death, Deloris returned to Centerville to be closer to her family. Deloris and John were active members of the Church of Christ while residing in the Knoxville area, following her return to Centerville she attended Drake Avenue Christian Church. Deloris was a certified Duncan Ceramic Products teacher and she taught ceramics for maore than 35 years to residents of the area at her studio Bohm Ceramic Lane. Deloris also enjoyed making porcelain dolls, as well as painting, teaching and sharing her landscape oil paintings. She was also a former member of the Appanoose and Marion county Farm Bureau's as well as serving as former leader for 4-H in Appanoose county.

Deloris will be missed by her family which includes her niece Karen Shondel, and her husband LaVern, her nephews Dean Shepard and his wife Marilyn, Wendell Shepard and his wife Mary Louise, Tom Bear and his wife Marsha, and Charles Bear and his wife Sheri along with her great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, her brother Frederick and her sister Lois Nevell Shepard.

Memorials in her name may be made to Elgin Cemetery.
