Leta May Binkley, age 82, of Lewistown, Missouri formerly of Knox County, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, in Hannibal, Missouri. She was born August 5, 1927, in Knox County, Missouri the daughter of Leo and Nellie Mae Bowen VanSickle. She was united in marriage to James Lawrence Binkley on March 21, 1948, at Edina, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter-in-law Lynn Binkley and several aunts and uncles. Surviving are five children, Linda Maggart and husband Link of Kirksville, Missouri, Sandra Bradshaw of LaBelle, Missouri, Phillip Binkley of Lewistown, Missouri, Rita Myers and husband Wayne of Lewistown, Missouri, and Kenny Binkley of Kirksville, Missouri, eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Leta May received her education in Hurdland and Edina schools. She lived most of her life in Knox and Lewis Counties. She was employed for several years at Motorola in Quincy, Illinois and for several years she and her husband where caretakers of the Baring Country Club. She was an avid bingo player, loved crocheting and had received a blue ribbon at the Lewis County Fair for crocheting an Indian Doll. She was a member of the Knox County Memorial Post # 4822 Ladies Auxiliary at Edina, Missouri, the Lewistown American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Queen of Peace Catholic Church at Ewing, Missouri. Leta May enjoyed spending time with her friends, children and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home at Edina, Missouri. Brother Elmer Hagood will officiate the services. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri. Casket bearers will be Kevin Miller, Kelly Miller, Terry Miller, Mike Bradshaw, Eric Binkley and Larry Myers. Visitation will be Sunday, July 11, 2010, after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Rosary will be held 8 p.m. Sunday evening in the Funeral Home.
