William acted as an attorney for four persons who bought the land to establish the town of Bristol Township, Bristol County, Rhode Island in 1680 (Bristol Township was then in Massachusetts). The proprietors each keep one-eighth part and the remainder was sold. William bought one-thirty-second, having a two acre plot in town, near the water, ten acres outside town, and an additional purchase of one hundred acres being the tip of the peninsula opposite Bristol.

William's property in Bristol was willed to his son Timothy, and his tools willed to his son, William's, sons.

His Will proved 15 Jul 1721.


His parents were Richard Ingraham and Elizabeth Wignall of Massachusetts.
