Mr.Ivan Hurley, age 94, of Newport passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital in Knoxville. He was of the Baptist faith . He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Thelma Hurley, mother and father Bernard and Mary Hurley, brothers George and Earl Hurley, and sister Leona Johnson.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Wayne Blackwell of Newport, granddaughter and grandson-in-law Lisa and Danny Chapman of Newport, great grandchildren Brandon Brown, Brad Antrican and Jeremy Jones all of Newport. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Shirley Moore, Beth McDaniel and Sherry Moody. The service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jackie Caldwell and Pastor Artie Sturm officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
