"The LaFayette Sun" - August 16, 1893:

Personal Mention.

Miss Susie Pate left Monday for the World’s Fair.

(Note: The World's Fair was being held in Chicago, IL)
"The LaFayette Sun" - April 8, 1896:

Miss Susie Pate was called to Columbus last Tuesday on business. She killed two birds with one stone while there. She attended every opening in the city, saw all the imported hats and newest fads in millinery.
"The LaFayette Sun" - October 16, 1907:

Miss Sue Pate invited a representative of "The Sun" in to inspect her display of fall and winter millinery last Friday. We were very favorably impressed with the many beautiful patterns shown. She has hats ranging in price from fifty cents to twenty-five dollars, and they are the very latest creations.
"The LaFayette Sun" - December 16, 1925:

Miss Susie Pate Died Here Saturday Morning.

Susie Antonette Pate, age 67, died at her home early Saturday morning, December 11th, after a brief illness of several days. Miss Susie, as she was generally called and familiarly known by friends and relatives in and around LaFayette, was the only surviving daughter of the late A. D. Pate and her death leaves only one living brother of the Pate family, John Pate. She was every active, and even up to a few days of her death she had busied herself about her store in preparation of the holiday trade. She was considered a very fine business woman besides being the guiding factor of her home, and identified with the business interest of LaFayette for many years.
Mrs. John Brocado and James Patton niece and nephew, were the only out-of-town relatives to reach LaFayette for the funeral services which were held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. The funeral was conducted by Drs._. H. Johnson and J. W. Rucker and interment was in the LaFayette Cemetery with Robinson & Cutler in charge.
