"The LaFayette Sun" - May 28, 1884:

Death of Mrs. Sarah A. McCraw.

Mrs. Sarah A. McCraw, wife of ex-Chancellor B. B. McCraw, died on Thursday 22nd inst., at her residence in this place after a brief illness. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church by the pastor and the remains were interred in the old cemetery.
Mrs. McCraw was in her 59th year and had lived among us for many years. She was respected by all who knew her for the many excellent traits she possessed as a neighbor and friend. For a long time before her death she was a member of the Methodist church and died in confident hope of entering upon the blessed rest of heaven. Mrs. McCraw leaves a husband, two sons and four daughters with whom many friends deeply sympathize in their bereavement.
