James Arthur Kinne
Birth: Jun. 5, 1934
Jasper County
Missouri, USA
Death: Mar. 19, 1960
Jackson County
Missouri, USA

Murdered by his wife Sharon Kinne when he sought divorce from her. Son of devout Mormon parents, Haggard and Katie Kinne, James attended Brigham Young University in Provo Utah before marrying Sharon and returning home to Independence MO. He was employed by Bendixx Aviation Corporation in Kansas City, who contracted for the Atomic Energy Commission. While this job provided his children Danna and Troy and his wife with security and a new home, Sharon was never satiated. She always wanted more money and more men, whom she carried on countless affairs with throughout her marriage. When James sought divorce from Sharon, she originally demanded the house they'd recently purchased, $1000 cash and custody of only Danna. She later thought she could not afford the upkeep on the house and would not be able to live on that amount of money, so she sought out someone to kill James for her. When she was unable to do so, he shot him in the head as he napped that afternoon, blaming the shot on young Danna playing with a gun that James had earlier been cleaning. The death was originally ruled accidental, but was later changed to homicide when one of the men Sharon had sought to kill James came forward with this information. In June of 1960, Sharon again murdered, this time her victim was the wife of a man with whom she was having an affair. She was later aquitted of that murder, but was finally convicted in the murder of James Kinne. She was sentenced to life in prison at the Women's reformatory in Tipton, Missouri, where she stayed for a year and a half before her conviction was overturned. Released on bond pending a new trial, she "married" her cell mate from the Reformatory, an older woman named Margaret Hopkins. She later met another man named Sam Puglise, whom she ran off to Mexico with. While in Mexico, she met a radio announcer by the name of Francisco Ordonez whom she robbed and murdered in a Mexico City motel room in 1964. Sentenced to 10 years in a Mexican prison for that murder, she remained behind bars until December 1969, when she escaped. Sharon Kinne has never resurfaced. She is the subject of the book, "I'm just an ordinary girl" by James C. Hays, and her case has been featured on TV's UNSOLVED MYSTERIES.  (bio by: Marlene)
