OBITUARY OF MRS. EDSON M. ALLEN
Stella M. Gray, daughter of Daniel and Martha Gray, was born in Marshall County, ILL., June 10, 1877 and passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 1953, at the Spencer hospital at the age of 76 years.
On Feb. 24, 1904, she was united in marriage to Edson M. Allen at Fostoria [Iowa] and they have resided in that community most of the time since their marriage.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband; two sons, Stanley M. of San Francisco, Calif., and Irvil G. of Chicago, ILL., four grandchildren; Gale Allen of Arnolds Park, Irvil Allen Jr., of Chicago, Teddy and Linda Allen of San Francisco; one great-granddaughter, Francine Allen of Arnolds park, and one sister, Lettie Sims of Cullon, ILL.
She and her twin brother, Jason, were the youngest of seven children and he preceded her in death two years and one week.
Funeral services were held Oct. 24, 1953, at the Cobb-Warner chapel in Spencer with Rev. M. R. Houts officiating. Burial was in Milford Cemetery. Mrs. Leighton Rogers and Mrs. Fred Tjaden sang "Rock of Ages' and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye' accompanied by Mrs. Keith Parker.
Pallbeares were two grandsons, Irvil Allen Jr., and Gale Allen, and four nephews, Arlo Allen, Allen Carr and Roy Shatto, of Spencer, and Eathiel Carr of Milford.
