Ronald Dean "Bam Bam" Portman passed away on Aug. 7, 2011, in Denison TX at the age of 60 years and 10 days. He was born on July 28, 1951, in Durant OK to Harold Dean and Betty Jean (Bishop) Portman.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing his drums. He would spend as much time as he could on his four wheeler while working on his property. His children say that once he learned to text message he never called them again. Ronnie loved his family and making people laugh with his sense of humor.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Portman, on Aug. 5, 2000.
Ronnie is survived by his father Harold Dean Portman of Durant; sons Ronnie "Budd" Portman, Jr., and wife Angela of Kingston OK, and Donnie Portman and wife Autumn of Durant; daughter Laci McKinney of Durant; sister Linda Bertrand and husband Tommy of Durant; grandchildren Megan Portman of Mead OK, Andrew Hill of Durant, Tiffany Portman of Mead, Nikki Smith of Durant, Austin Hill of Durant, Trevor McKinney of Durant, Preston Portman of Durant, Christopher Ross of Lewisville TX, and Chelsie Cloer of Valley View TX; nephew Kevin Mouton of Austin TX; niece Candice Mouton of Sulphur LA; grandniece Brea Mouton of Sulphur LA; grandnephew Bryler LeBrun of Sulphur LA; and many other friends and relatives.
