Mary Elizabeth Cinnamon was the daughter of Robert B. Cinnamon 1874 – 1940 and Cora P. Burchell 1877 – 1909. Her siblings were; Annie Cinnamon 1896; Lilly Cinimon 1899 – 1924 and James Cinnimon 1900.

On Sept. 16, 1909 little six year old Mary's mother, Cora P. Burchell Cinnamon, passed away. As yet, her grave has not been located.

1910, must have been a difficult time for the Cinnamon family. Mary was being cared for by her papa and two older sisters. Living with them was her 107 year old great-grandma.

On Jan 15, 1913 Mary's father married Mary Turner Find A Grave Memorial# 33411498 to be a step-mother to his family.

On Aug 22. 1921 Mary Elizabeth became the bride of Andrew Anderson "Pete" Hayes in Hamblen Co. From this marriage they had the following children: Edith Hays 1922; Annie Bell "Ann" Hayes 1924 – 2006; Cora Lee Hays 1928 and Ina Mae Hayes 1929 – 1993.

The 1930 census tells that Mary and Pete were living at District 4, Hamblen, Tennessee in a rented house on a farm, and Pete was employed as a farmer. Pete's parents were living in the next house that was listed on the census page.

In 1939 Mary's dear step-mother, Mary Turner Cinnamon, passed away. July 10,1940 was another sad day for Mary. Her beloved father, Robert B. Cinnamon, passed away. He was buried beside his beloved wife of 26 years, in the Meadow Branch Cemetery, Bean Station, Grainger County, Tennessee,where together they "Rest in Peace.

There is no farther documentation for Mary until her death.
Mary's beautifully crafted tombstone revealed that she Passed away on Jan 16, 1974. On Apr. 15, 1992, Pete passed away. She and her beloved are buried beside each other at the Bent Creek Cemetery, Whitesburg, Hamblen County, Tennessee, where together they "Rest in Peace."
