Ruby Hazel Bacon, age 89 passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Serenity Hospice.. Ruby was a native of Tattnall County and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her spare time, she loved going to the mountains, sewing and tending to her roses. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Dorothy DeLoach; son, Franklin Bacon.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, James Bacon of Alston; daughter, Dorothy Louise Bacon of Vidalia; daughter-in-law, Linda Nail Bacon of Collins; brother, Junior DeLoach of Gooseneck; grandchildren, Timmy and Tracy Bacon of Hayesville, North Carolina, Gail Beach Downie of Vidalia, Mechelle Bacon of Collins, Ramanda and Scott Hughes of Blairsville, GA; 8 great-granchildren; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
