From the effects of an injury sustained on last Monday, Tilghman J. Weil died at 6 o'clock Saturday evening at St. Elizabeth hospital. He fell at his home on North Fifteenth street and fractured his left hip. Mr. Weil was born in Encheim, Frankfort-on-the-Main, Germany, July 19, 1833, and he came to the United States in 1848. He lived in this County for some time and then moved to Crawfordsville, where he was engaged in the butcher business for twenty-six years. He returned to Lafayette five years ago and since that time had lived in retirement. Mr. Weil married three times and a widow and the following children survive: Mrs. Edward Overesch, Mrs. Edward Kohl, of Louisville; Tilghman E. Weil of Indianapolis and Edward Weil of this city. Mr. Weil was a member of the German Methodist church and was a man of splendid character. He was a true friend and a good citizen. Services were held at the house this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and the German Methodist church at 3 o'clock. Rev. John J Baechtold officiated, with internment in Greenbush Cemetery.
