George Everett Lovell was born 16 Nov 1916 at Shelton, Bonneville, Idaho, USA to Edmond and Jessie Cole Lovell. He attended schools there.
He married Edith Haroldsen in the Logan LDS Temple They lived in the Ririe area.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and was a High Priest in the Ririe 2nd Ward. He has served in the Shelton Ward Bishopric and numerous other church positions.
He was a lifelong farmer and cattle rancher of the Ririe-Shelton area. He has been president or the Ririe Farm Bureau, served on the boards for the Enterprise Canal, the Bonneville county Fair Board, the Idaho Potato Growers, the State Potato Control Commission, and the Idaho Cattle Feeders association.
He was one of the founders of the Ririe Producers Co-op and served as the president and director. He was named Grassman of the year in 1968 along with his son, David and he drilled the first irrigation well in the Ririe area.
He died 6 Feb 1981 in a Salt Lake City, Utah hospital following heart surgery.
He is survived by his wife Edith of Ririe; a son David E. of Shelton; three daughters, Karen (Arlo) Grover and Kathryn (Monte) Jenson, both of Ririe, and Jessie (Heber) Barzee of Terreton, Jefferson, Idaho; 24 grandchildren; a brother Joseph E. Lovell of Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho; two sisters, Mary (W.E.) Hill of Rigby, Jefferson, Idaho, and Martha (Lyman) Bowles of Ririe.
Funeral services were held at the Ririe LDS Stake Center with bishop L Kay Luthy of the Ririe 2nd Ward officiating.
He was buried in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
