Helen grew up in an intellectual family in Leningrad. Early She began studying music under the guidance of Her aunt (Her aunt was a singer and pianist, the pupil of Ferruccio Busoni ). At age 17 Yelena enrolled at the Leningrad Conservatory, but moved up in Odessa when She married. After graduating with honors from the Conservatory, She went on a tour of the Soviet Union, worked as an accompanist, had many disciples. About 40 years old Helen was married a second time. From Her first marriage She has the daughter. During this period and in retirement Helen worked in a music college as a piano teacher and She was the head of the Department of the piano. In 1994, Helen moved with Her husband in the U.S. and lived until Her last days in New York, where She continued to teach a music to the American children... Yelena Polbina was the talented, very thin, refined nature and representative of the famous Leningrad School of pianism , She continued the tradition of Anton Rubinstein, Leonid Nikolayev, Mrs.Esipova and Mrs.Golubovska. She was the remarkably exquisitely interpreter of the classical music and the works by Chopin and Scriabin especially . Helen was the adept and the aristocrat because She was having a noble roots of pre-revolutionary nobility . As a rule, people sincerely admired by Her splendid , marvelous, elegant beauty and infinite personal charm. She was an excellent mother and caring wife. It should be noted that Yelena Polbina loved and knew how to bestow happiness , the warmth of Her radiant heart to people. Indeed, it was the great and the lavish, very sensitive, unique and mystical SOUL. She was my wonderful Spiritual Mentor and powerful moral support in my hard and sad life. She is alive for me FOREVER ! Hallowed be the Name of Her ...
