Lowell David Griffis went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2011. Lowell was born on April 4, 1937 to David and Cornelia Griffis in Salina, Kansas. He attended the local schools, the local Methodist Church and grew to manhood in the city of his birth. He achieved the level of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and later attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Kenneth and Clara Wolfe, his sister Doris Stoskopf and her husband Cleve, his brother-in-law Wayne Wolfe.

Surviving are his wife Jean of the home, his son Brian and his wife Leigh Ann of Abilene, Kansas, his son Barry and his wife Linda also of Abilene, Kansas, and his son Ed of Flagstaff, Arizona. A brother, Larry Griffis of Lindsborg, Kansas also survives.

Also surviving are his grandchildren Kyle Griffis and his wife Marla, Wayne Griffis and his wife Anka, Lauren Nelson, Lyle Nelson, and Lucas Nelson. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Ben and Angela Griffis and Riley and Miranda Radenberg.

Other surviving relatives are a sister-in-law, Jan Adams and her husband Steve, a brother-in-law Waldon Wolfe and his wife Brenda., nieces Holly Wilkins Chris, Brandyn Schwartz and her husband Matt, and Lisa Morris; nephews Mike Stoskopf and his wife Suzanne, Cort Stoskopf and his wife Susan, Chad Adams, and Will Wolfe, a grand-nephew Tyler Morris and a grand-niece Kayle Morris. Lowell is survived by a host of dear friends and his beloved dog, Freya.

Lowell was the Southeast Regional Manager with General Motors retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service. He then worked for Edwards and Associates as a consultant until 2004 and he and Jean moved to their home at Kentucky Lake.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Midwest Doberman Rescue, 929 Apricot Drive, St. Charles, Mo 63301.

Services: A memorial service will be held at a later date in Kansas and the burial will be in the White Cloud Cemetery at Manchester, Kansas.
Visitation: There will be no visitation.
