Fred Lawrence was a retired heavy-duty mechanic, he enjoyed many hobbies and talents. Fred had eight siblings, a son and four daughters. He is survived by son, Mark of Va, a sister Virginia of Fla, and a brother Donald of Mass.World WarII saw Fred serving with the 12th AAF, 57th Bomb Wing, in the 321st BG and 445th BS as a T/Sgt/Master Mechanic/Crew Chief for the B-25 Mitchell Bombers. Fred has now joined the AAC team and they are no doubt all flying in his favorite ship the "Peggy Lou" for eternity. The 57th fought in N Africa, Sicily, Corsica and Italy from 1942 to the end of the war. Fred wrote two books about his brothers-in-arms who served in the European African Middle Eastern Campaign. "Mediterranean Mitchells" and "Untold and Unsung.... the Unknown". Music was Fred's first love. He played jazz harmonica and performed live with talented musicians in S. California Clubs, where some un-released recordings still exist. Reading non-fiction was Fred's second love. His interests varied between archaeology, geology, mining gold, and collecting rocks and fossils. Fred was an avid photographer and an active member of the 57th BW Assoc. He will be missed by many friends and family.
