Charles was the son of Jackie Eugene MOTT and Dorothy BROWN. He graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1968 and served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam during the Viet Nam war.
Charles married Naomi Marie PHILBEE, and they had four children. His wife died in 1980 when all four of their children were young. Charles raised their children by himself.
He worked for Rochester Metal Products in Rochester, Indiana, for over 30 years. He was a pourer, pouring hot molten metal into molds.
He died at his home on Pontiac Street, in Rochester, in the early morning hours.
He was survived by his four children and five grandchildren.
