The funeral for Mr. Clinton Cummings, 65, was held Monday at 2pm in Toomsboro Baptist Church. The Rev. Ted Page and the Rev. Ray Tompkins officiated. Burial took place in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cummings died Saturday after an extended illness. He was a native of Washington County but had lived in Toomsboro for the past 22 years. He served for two terms as a city councilman and he was a retired employee of Central State Hospital. He was a member of Toomsboro Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irma Cummings of Toomsboro, three daughters, Mrs. Joann Allen of Macon; Mrs. Barbara Jean Avery of Gordon and Mrs. Linda Boone of Toomsboro; two step-daughters, Mrs. Sara Johnston of Monticello; Mrs. Joann Hartley of Milledgeville; one stepson, Mr. Gene Weaver of Decatur; one brother, Mr. W.S. Cummings of Milledgeville; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Prosser of Stapleton, Ga.; Mrs. Pauline Miller and Mrs. Stella Roberson, both of Sandersville; two half sisters, Mrs. Wynell Davis of Tennille and Mrs. Hattie Willis of Lakeland, Fla., 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Martin's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
