Democratic Standard Coshocton, O., Friday Morning, Oct. 18, 1895
Mrs. Alonzo Mirise, an esteemed and worthy lady of Roscoe, died last Saturday at her home in that village, after an illness of but a few days, of pneumonia. The funeral services were held in the M.P. church at Roscoe, following which the remains were brought to this city and interred in Oak Ridge Cemetery. A husband and five children are left to mourn her loss. Mr. Mirise is absent in the West, and as his present whereabouts are unknown he could not be notified of his wife's illness and death.
Rachael died while Alonzo was in Tennessee and it took awhile for him to find out--- which is why the girls (Ida and Beulah) went to the Passmores family (Rachel's relatives).
