CALLISBURG – Funeral services for Randy Howard, 52, will be held Sunday, August 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Family visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 6, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He passed away on August 3, 2011 in Denton, Texas.

Randy Lee Howard was born on September 16, 1958 to Lee and Norma Howard in Ogden, Utah. He married Gayla Sharon Lewis on May 7, 1983 in Gainesville, Texas. He was a devoted husband and role model for his family enjoying time with them. He was loved by all that knew him and well respected. He never cared about worldly possessions and was always smiling and had a sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, attending country music concerts, and being a Dallas Cowboys fan. He worked at Weber Aircraft for 32 years. He was a very strong man battling his cancer with strength and courage. He never felt sorry for himself or asked "why me?" Randy blessed his wife with 28 wonderful years of marriage always thanking her for being by his side. He was a wonderful father and papa. For his family, he was the best father anyone could ever have had.

He is survived by his wife, Gayla Howard of Callisburg; his son, Brian Howard of Whitesboro; his daughter, Michelle Hughes of Sherman; grandson, Dylan Hughes of Sherman; his father, Lee Howard, of Utah; two brothers, Roger Howard and wife, Annette of Utah; Bill Howard and wife, Evonne of Utah; a sister, Karla Chatelain and husband, Mike of Utah; brothers-in-law, Donny Evans and David Evans of Whitesboro; father and mother-in-law, Harrell and Charlene Evans of Whitesboro; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Howard of Utah.
