Was a member of Episcopal Church and Funeral will be held Thursday afternoon.
Mrs. Annabelle Paine, widow of William Paine, passed away this morning at her home, 502 South 6th street at the age of 74, death being due to the infirmities of old age.
She was married in Dublin, Ireland and she and her husband early emigrated to America, first making their home in New York, and then removing west. They came to Brainerd 46 years ago on March 17, 1872.
Mr. Paine was a keen real estate dealer and platted Paine's additions in Southeast Brainerd. He amassed a competence in the early days. He died about 12 years ago.
Mrs. Paine is survived by two sons and two daughters. The sons are Jacob Paine, for many years street commissioner of Brainerd, and Will Paine of Pittsford, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Paine visited her mother several weeks ago.
The daughters are Mrs. D. B. Shontz of Corrections, Iowa and Miss Lillie Paine. The latter was her mother's constant attendant and carried out all her wishes.
The grandchildren are Paul Smith who was raised by her, Ralph Paine of Brainerd, now in the army, George Paine of St. Paul, Earl Shoatz of Iowa now in the army, Geraldine Shoatz of Iowa, Miss Ruth Paine of Brainerd.
Mrs. Paine was a devoted member of the Episcopal church. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence and 3 o'clock from the Episcopal church.
