Annas Brees, among the oldest if not the oldest man in the state died May 6, at the home of his daughter near Colony.
He was born in Butler Co Ohio, Jan 10 1803 and was in usual good health the day before and enjoyed himself playing on his violin which was older than he was.
His violin was always by his side and his chief amusement.
His funeral was Sunday at Lone Elm and his body laid to rest by his wife.
Mr Brees has lived in Kansas since 1876 spending most of his time in Westphalia. He spent last winter here with his son A.M. Brees and has been at his daughter's since spring. A.M. is the oldest son, the old violin was given to him to keep and when he dies it is to be handed down to the other children and kept in the family

Gravesite Details
He died in Anderson County, Kansas. His obituary listed above states he was interred at Lone Elm Cemetery although there is only 1 Brees grave in that cemetery which is not his. I still believe this is where he is buried.
