FINCHUM, JENNIE HANCE - age 77, of Sevierville, passed to be in the presence of the Lord on July 30, 2011. Jennie was born in Cocke County, TN on June 18, 1934. Jennie retired from Dan River with over 30 years of service. In previous years she and her husband raised Arabian horses. She enjoyed putting out a garden every year and home canning. Her children enjoyed the fruits of her labor, as did friends, family and even strangers. Jennie made the best green beans and cornbread. Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond "Hobart" Finchum (Sept. 28, 2010), parents, Creed and Cordie Hance, sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Gene Duncan, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lowell Layman, Oliver "Broady" Finchum, Mayford Finchum, Ralph and Vita Finchum, J.W. and Evelyn Finchum and Juanita Davenport. Jennie will be dearly missed by sons, Steve Finchum and wife JoAnn, Chris Finchum and friend Tina; step-grandchildren, Rob, Joey, and Jeff Parton; step great-grandchildren JoBeth, Nathan and Aaron Parton; sisters Delores Layman and Eula Webb; brothers Jay and Ronnie Hance; brothers and sisters-in-law Dink and JoAnn Finchum, Jerry and Judy Finchum, Bonnie Finchum, Imogene Fain, Karen Finchum, and Carolyn Finchum; several nieces, nephews and friends. A special thank you to U. T. Hospice Care who so lovingly assisted in Jennie's care, and to friends and family for prayers and support. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, with funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville with Rev. W.A. Galyon officiating. Interment 11 AM Wednesday morning at Boyds Creek Cemetery. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
