Married Mar. 27, 1918 to William Francis Sedgwick at Minden, Ont. William was 31 and Annie was 26.
Mother of four children: Estella, Sadie, Craig and Joyce.
ANNIE JANE SEDGWICK
A victim of a prolonged illness of several years, Mrs. William F. Sedgwick , passed away at the Waterman Rest Home, Lindsay, on Friday, Sept. 23, 1955. She was in her 64th year, having been born in Anson Township, Minden, Ontario, October 22, 1891.
She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Taylor, Minden, and lived with her parents until her marriage to William Sedgwick of Greenan, Sask., on March 27, 1918. They made their home in Saskatchewan until 1943 when they returned to Cameron. Born of this union were four children, Mrs. Alvin Heron, (Estella), of Cameron; Mrs. Ralph Jay, (Sadie), of Dixie, Ontario; Craig of Toronto and Mrs. MacKenzie Ferguson, (Joyce), of Colombus, Ontario.
She is survived by her husband, William Sedgwick and family; also four sisters, Mrs. Amy Graham, Minden; Mrs. Archie (Ada) Taylor, of Lindsay; Mrs. James (Estella) Brock, Lindsay; Mrs. Francis (Eva) Reis, Papillion, Nebraska USA. Mrs. Sedgwick was an active member of Victoria United Church, Powles Corner and a favourite among a wide circle of friends.
The funeral was held at McArthur's funeral home, Lindsay, on Monday, September 26, 1955, at 2 p.m. The service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.W. Patterson, Fenelon Falls.
The pallbearers were her nephews, Frank Taylor, Keith Taylor, Marshall Taylor, Kenneth Taylor, Donald Archer and Arnold Archer.
Mrs. Sedgwick was laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. The floral tributes which were many and beautiful spoke of the high esteem in which she was held.
