US Navy Rear Admiral. Karaberis was the commanding officer of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wasp from June 11, 1960 to June 21, 1961. He was the commanding officer of Commander Fleet Air San Diego/Fleet Wing Fourteen. In 1964 Karaberis was the head of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Project Office in the Chief of Naval Material Organization.
