Charles Augustus Tarwater, "Gussey",died following an operation for an appendicitis. He was married to Eva(Wells)Tarwater. They had two children, Mildred and Bernice. He was a rancher and a pioneer of the Ygnacio Valley. His parents, Gabriel and Martha Jane(Auberry) Tarwater traveled from Missouri and settled on property in Clayton, Calif, on Mt Diablo Mountain. He was survived by a sister, Josephine Tarwater, a brother, Joseph, and a niece Hattie Tarwater.
