Martha was the daughter of Thomas Auberry and Jane Drain(sp). She also had a sister, Nancy Eleanor Auberry, who later married George Hellyer. Her first marriage was to Archibald Larrison. To this union they had one daughter, Nancy Jane Larrison. Archibald died when Nancy was very young. Later, Martha met Gabriel and they married in Ray Co, MO. They soon had another child, John, in Ray Co, MO. They all packed up and headed west to CA by covered wagon in 1849. In CA, they had six more children.

They settled on land, which is now Mt Diablo, in Clayton, CA. They later moved to rural Concord, which is now called Walnut Creek, CA. Their property was on Walnut Ave and Oak Grove Rd.

She was one of the few remaining pioneers of the early 1850's who lived in Ygnacio Valley.
