I. Newton Ryan died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday at his home, 1405 Kossuth street, of complications from which he had suffered for a number of years. Mr. Ryan was born in Clinton county, August 11, 1865, the son of William and Mary Ryan, pioneer settlers of Indiana. He united in marriage December 31, 1888, with Miss Belle Cooley, who died October 19, 1903. To this union were born two daughters, Miss Donna Ryan and Mrs. Harry A Bauer, and one son, Edward L. all of this city. Other surviving relatives are three granddaughters, Avanelle and Betty Ryan and Madonna Bauer, and Miss Myrie Cooley and Jess Cooley, sister and brother-in-law who made their home with him. Mr. Ryan’s early life was spent in farming, but he later engaged in the contracting business. He was a member of Congress Street M. E. church. The funeral of Newton Ryan will be conducted from the home 1405 Kossuth street, at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. Rev. F. G. Howard, pastor of Congress Street M. E. church and Rev. C. L. Harper, chaplain at the State Soldiers’ home, will officiate, burial in Clark’s Hill cemetery.
