| Birth: | Aug. 8, 1853 | | Death: | Sep. 12, 1927 |  Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served in the United States Army duirng the Wars with the Plains Indians, and was awarded the CMOH for his bravery while a 2nd Lieutenant in the 9th United States Cavalry at Las Animas Canyon, New Mexico on September 18, 1879. His citation reads "Advanced alone into the enemy's lines and carried off a wounded soldier of his command under a hot fire and after he had been ordered to retreat". His Medal was awarded to him on May 7, 1890. He rose to the rank of Colonel in the Army before retiring from the service. (bio by: Russ Dodge)
